Personal tax preparation
Your tax return, prepared and reviewed by a person
Individual tax preparation and filing, handled by someone who looks at your actual situation, not a form that fills itself in as you type.
- A person reviews every return before filing
- Documents handled directly, not through a portal you have to learn
Who this is for
W-2 employees with a straightforward return
A return that should be simple, and a preparer who confirms it actually is before it is filed.
Self-employed individuals and 1099 income
Freelance, gig or contract income, where deductions and estimated tax matter more than a standard return.
Anyone who would rather hand it to someone
You do not want to learn tax software this year. You want to hand over your documents and have someone else get it right.
What to expect
A conversation about your situation before anything is prepared, so nothing relevant gets missed.
A return reviewed by a person before it is filed, not auto-submitted the moment the fields are full.
A plain-English explanation of what is on the return and why, not just a refund or balance-due number.
A place to send documents as they arrive through the year, rather than a single scramble in April.
How it works
- 1
Tell us about your situation
Filing status, income sources, and any deadlines already in view.
- 2
Send your documents
W-2s, 1099s, prior-year returns, and anything else that applies to your year.
- 3
We prepare and review the return
Prepared from your documents and reviewed before it is filed or sent to you for signature.
- 4
File and keep a copy
The return is filed and you receive a copy for your records.
What we ask for to get started
- Prior-year return
- If you have one. It shortens the conversation considerably.
- Income documents
- W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, or self-employment income and expense records, depending on your situation.
- Life-event details
- Marriage, a new dependent, a home purchase or sale, or anything else that changed since last year.
Questions
Do you handle returns with self-employment or 1099 income?
Yes. That is one of the more common situations we prepare for, since it usually involves deductions and estimated tax considerations a standard W-2 return does not.
What if I am missing a document?
Tell us what is missing when you send the rest. Some documents (like a prior-year AGI, if needed for e-filing) can be retrieved; others we will tell you how to request.
Can you tell me what I owe before you file?
Yes. You see the return and the result before anything is filed or signed.
